The Park Fire in Cohasset, CA left behind more than charred structures. Toxic ash, asbestos, and hazardous debris covered properties, creating long-term risks for residents and the environment.
Alliance Environmental Services was called in to restore safety on a private property, providing environmental testing, fire debris cleanup, and hazardous waste disposal.
Wildfire debris is more than a mess — it’s dangerous. Burned homes and outbuildings often contain asbestos, lead, and heavy metals that become part of the ash and soil after a fire. Cleanup must be handled with care to avoid exposing workers, neighbors, or nearby ecosystems.
The challenge at Cohasset was twofold:
- Confirm the presence of hazardous materials through environmental testing.
- Remove and dispose of contaminated debris quickly, so the property could be cleared for safe rebuilding.

Alliance Hazmat mobilized a certified cleanup team to:
- Conduct full environmental testing for asbestos, lead, and soil contamination.
- Remove and dispose of fire debris, ash, and burned building materials.
- Implement dust suppression and air monitoring to keep toxins from spreading.
- Deliver final clearance documentation so the property was officially ready for reconstruction.
The site was cleared and certified safe in just 4 weeks, allowing the property owner to move forward after the fire.
